About The Designer

Handcrafted from East - NorthEast India

An eponymous label by Jahnabi Das, a fashion graduate from JD Institute of Fashion Technology. I was born in the colourful state of Northeast, Assam. Weaving and handloom is regarded as one of the important activities here. I grew up in a neighbourhood where I see women making their own clothes weaving in a small loin loom or handloom in their backyard, after finishing their house chores. This thing made me very enlivened and this is how my love for designing began. My journey started right after my Graduation, I moved to the city of joy, Kolkata. As a designer, my work is to exudes a playful and experimental aura, defying stereotypes and transcending conventions, by blending innovative silhouettes with effortless sophistication.  I love to explore and create stories in my fabrics. the name Jahnabi also interprets the river Ganga. Much like the river's journey through diverse landscapes, our clothing line offers a versatile range that seamlessly blends comfort, style, and functionality. From casual wear to elegant ensembles, Jahnabi Attire is designed to accompany you on your daily adventures, reflecting the dynamic spirit of the river itself.

The Brand Jahnabi was noticed by well-known news channels and newspapers who covered our Stories since 2015. The brand achieved the ‘Most Creative Youngest Fashion Designer in West Bengal’ 2019 by Blindwink, a market Research company, and ‘Best Menswear in Guwahati’ by Red FM Thappa in the year 2019. In the coming years, hopefully, I will be able to take my dream forward and reach even higher levels nationally and someday at the international level also.
